I'll just start by saying this: Sitting by me at a Wisconsin sporting event and/or talking to me during a Wisconsin sporting event is not for the faint of heart or the religious.
The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Brooklyn Nets, 107-96, this afternoon inside the Fiserv Forum for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The series is now tied 2-2.
The Bucks played some great defense, they didn't crumble and let's face it, caught a big break with the Kyrie Irving injury.
If Kyrie and James Harden can't go the rest of the way for Brooklyn, then Milwaukee should be favored to win the series now.
The national media will give Milwaukee absolutely zero respect if they win this series without Irving and Harden playing. And you know what? I do not care one bit.
PJ Tucker has been fantastic the last two games. Kevin Durant (the softest player in the NBA) was 3-for-12 when guarded by Tucker.
Kevin Durant got a brief taste of what life is like when you're the only superstar on your team....and he didn't enjoy it quite so much.
Durant also got exposed for calling Giannis a sucka. Been outplayed in both games since. I want to know where this cold blooded killer who has the so called clutch gene is? I want to know!
Milwaukee finished 44.3 percent from the field and 34.0 percent from 3-point range and 77.8 percent at the free throw line. Remarkably, that's an improvement from earlier in the series. There is still incredible room for improvement, however.
Pat Connaughton gave the Bucks some excellent minutes off the bench today. Deflections, steals, solid defense and a couple timely shots. This was basically the perfect role player playoff game performance, which the Bucks had been lacking any impact off the bench.
Sports can be very cruel and unforgiving. The Nets were so close to having a 3-0 stranglehold on the series, instead it's 2-2 going back to Brooklyn.
Milwaukee has found some things. Defensively, they're more ready for the movement and cutting, they're more disruptive in taking away the rhythm, which is allowing them easier baskets on the offensive end. In the half court though, it's still an adventure but they're trying some things which is progress from the iso heavy in the first three games.
Up Next:
Game 5 from Brooklyn will be on Tuesday, June 15. Tipoff is TBA as I write this, but it will be nationally televised on TNT.
After having two days off prior to Games 3 and 4, there is only one night off prior to Games 5 and 6 in this series.
Certainly not ideal for Brooklyn, who will need every hour they can get to get Kyrie and Harden healthy and ready to play.
