It's ages since I joined all the Yarn Alongers...My needles haven't exactly been flying since the last flurry when I decided to take my knitting everywhere with me. I finished the body of the Cobblestone pullover that I'm making Ahmad. I'm working on the sleeves now. They're knitted separately on mini circulars. I struggled with the tiny round. The needles I bought had long extended corners and wouldn't work for the small number of stitches so I had to get a set of four to begin the cuff, I'll transfer them over later. So the flurry is on again with the new needles.I want to finish this winter sweater quickly so that I can start some nice light spring/summer projects like this gorgeous bag...
I've been slowly reading this, it's almost finished now and I'll be sad to lose my imaginary friends but can't wait to start to read 'Paris was a Woman, Portraits from the Left Bank' by Andrea Weiss. It was a 'Mother's Day Gift from Hannah with a sweet handwritten note. The book was inspired by the author of a documentary that she saw that accompanies the book. One of the overarching themes was woman as muse, that they can and should be, muses for one another, and themselves. The premiss of the book sounds fascinating an alternative perspective to the male oriented story of the left bank in 1900's Paris...Sounds like an intriguing read.
